Whew! I just made it! I really wanted to finally enter the blog hop and decided to just sit down and do it. The challenge this month was to use one of PTI's Timeless Templates. (Click HERE for a list of all participants.) I decided to use the Recipe Wrap-Up and turn it into a home for my prayer lists. This a project that I have been meaning to do for awhile and am glad to have "finished." (More explanation later)
I knew that I had to use that red fabric. I picked it up as a fat quarter at Walmart a few weeks ago, but have been too chicken to use it. Then I have my new favorite stamp set: Spots & Dots. And my other colors would be Dark Chocolate, Ocean Tides and Summer Sunrise.
Here are some panels that I made to go on the cover:
I cut some scrap cardstock to 2 3/4" by 3 1/4" then wrapped the fabric around and secured with FabriTac. (I LOVE this stuff. Once you get over the inital price and realize that it lasts forever, it's amazing. Got mine at Ace Hardware, but have seen it at Walmart too.)
Here is the finished cover. As you can tell, I added a little bit more to the top panel. Love the addition of Ocean Tides. Then tied it up with some twine. I am slowly becoming addicted to twine.
A close up. Not sure what else you can tell from this shot, but I like it. So here it is. ;)
Then I needed some pockets. Decided to stay with the theme from the front and make 3 with that yummy red fabric and three using Spots & Dots. This time I inked around the second set with some Summer Sunrise. (After doing so, really wished that I had done this to the cover panel too. Of course it's already glued down tight. Figures.)
Here is the finished inside. I love the alternation of colors. It just makes me happy.
Another "necessary" close up shot.
And another...
And another! Actually these shots do show how I stamped the PTI recipe cards using the Recipe Box stamp set. I was really worried about finding an ink to match the fabric. Pure Poppy is more of a coordinating color than a match. And since they're not touching at all, it works just fine for me.
Now, this is not finished. I would like each of the pockets to be for a specific prayer list. I have ideas such as: Community/World, Friends, Family, Us, Church. But thought since I might get a few visitors here tonight, I'd ask you for more ideas! So if you have an idea for a prayer category, please leave me a comment.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!
~Patti

Great job using fabric, I have never tried that. And i like how you matched all the colors. Community/world is a bit broad . . . do you have any missionaries you pray for? Missions could be one category.
